Sus niveles no varian significativamente durante las primeras horas de su desarrollo. Dicha enzima tiende a formar agregados de gran tama\u00f1o con otras macromoleculas  agregacion que se favorece al precipitarla con sulfato amonico  pudiendo disociarse con fuerza ionica adecuada. Utilizando tecnicas convencionales  la enzima de quiste se purifico 2386 veces con un rendimiento del 27 %  encontrando por electroforesis en gel de poliacrilamida con sds una banda mayoritaria de 55000 da. Su constante de michaelis fue de 15um para imp y 200 um para nad+  resultando este consustrato inhibidor a concentraciones superiores a 1 mm. El xpm  gmp y gp4g fueron inhibidores competitivos con imp  con valor de ki de 180  140 y 87 um respectivamente. La maxima velocidad catalitica se alcanzo a un valor de ph aproximado a 8.0  y con concentraciones de 2-mercaptoetanol en el medio  de 5 a 10 mm.
