El sistema es modular  facilmente expansible y reconfigurable  los recursos compartidos son accesibles a todos los procesadores a traves de una arquitectura multipuerta. La filosofia del sistema ltmup esta basada en la relocalizacion flexible de los recursos compartidos. La introduccion de redundancia y mecanismos de bajo nivel de votacion facilita la maxima disponibilidad funcional de los recursos. Si un fallo ocurre el sistema de reconfigura permaneciendo activo  aunque con su capacidad operativa degradada. Ltos posee los algoritmos que permiten la deteccion  identificacion y recubrimiento de fallos en las diferentes unidades del sistema ltmup  que no poseen areas de memoria libres de
