En la caracterizacion de estos compuestos se han encontrado dos diferentes tipos de comportamiento en estas bases puricas ya que pueden dar lugar a la formacion de complejos uniendose en este caso al ion metalico a traves de n7 o n9  o bien pueden actuar en forma protonada neutralizando las cargan negativas de iones tetrahalocupratos o en general  aniones del tipo (mx4)= donde m= zn(ii)  cd(ii)
