Carmen <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>La circonia dopada con itria presenta una alta estabilidad termica y una alta tenacidad a la fractura, lo que hace de esta ceramica un material de altas prestaciones en ceramicas estructurales. El presente trabajo ha sido realizado con objeto de utilizar nuevos metodos de obtencion, asi se han sintetizado por medio de precipitacion de alcoxidos de circonio e itrio, polvos ceramicos del 5 y 10% molar en itria. Una vez caracterizados mediante analisis termico, espectroscopia atomica de emision, microscopia electronica de barrido y analisis de energia dispersiva, con objeto de cuantificar la composicion quimica, morfolog\u00eda y tama\u00f1o de particulas, los polvos se compactaron y sintetizaron.  previamente se estudio dilatometricamente su velocidad de sinterizado a fin de mejorar la densidad. Estudios mediante porosimetria hg, microscopia electronica y rayos-x caracterizaron la ceramica obtenida. Las propiedades mecanicas se realizaron con indentacion vickers y knoop que permite evaluar dureza, modulo de young y tenacidad.
