En la aplicacion del metodo a guias de onda uniformes y homogeneas se ha desarrollado un tratamiento para el problema de esquinas y para la eliminacion de soluciones espureas. Se ha elaborado una teoria sobre propiedades de simetria de los modos que simplifica de forma importante los problemas de exceso de memoria y tiempo de ordenador. Se ha llevado a cabo una ampliacion del metodo que lo hace aplicable a cavidades resonantes homogeneas. Se presenta una formulacion para el caso de cavidades con simetria de revolucion.
