Se les ha denominado formas a y b. Ambas han sido obtenidas libres de contaminantes. Las dos formas possen las actividades p-n-acetilglucosaminidasica y p-n-acetilgalactosaminidasica asociadas a la misma proteina enzimatica  existiendo un solo centro activo. Se han estudiado para ambas ph optimo  estabilidad frente al ma  termoestabiliad  efecto de compuestos isnicos y de glucidicos  km  vmax  masa molecular  pi y accion sobre sustratos
