Las estructuras de estos compuestos quedan establecidas mediante la preparacion de derivados acetilados  degradacion oxidativa a formil-imidazol-2-tionas  porlarimetria y espectroscopias de uv  ir y 1h-rmn. Se ha realizado un estudio detallado por espectrometria de masas de los formil-imidazol-2-tionas y de los glicosilimidazol-2-tionas que ha permitido establecer los mecanismos de fragmentacion y
