Su aplicacion al movimiento de iones inorganicos en procesos de ascenso capilar en columnas de suelo permite demostrar la elevada eficiencia del desplazamiento ascendente  el incremento de la salinidad de los primeros centimetros de suelo por efecto de la evaporacion  la gran importancia relativa del flujo de masas respecto al de difusion molecular y la influencia de las posiciones de cambio del suelo sobre la dinamica de los cationes. En el proceso de lavado se demuestra la dispersion parcial de las particulas del suelo  cuyo frente de avances va retrasado respecto al de concentracion de sales  y la presencia de poros estagnantes o
