Se analiza su manifiesto realista y se co para su propuesta a la de los realismos antiguos. Se contempla la contradiccion entre su postura politica y sus obras en las que se detecta una critica tan solo en la seleccion del tema. Su modernidad  en fin  viene dada por multiples aspectos: en sus rupturas formales que incluyen una mayor planitud y una composicion yuxtapuesta; en el empirismo de su vision que incluira un tratamiento e las texturas toralmente original  y finalmente en su actitud frente a la sociedad y el publico  que muestra un utopco deseo de conectar con el pueblo y una experiencia real de
