Asi la reaccion de tiourea con bencilidencompuestos (bencilidenmalononitrilos  cianoacetos  cianoacetamidas y malonato) en un medio basico de alcohol\/alcoxido sodico constituyen procedimientos adecuados para la obtencion de 2-tioxopirimidinas 4 5 difuncionalizadas. Cuando el bencilidencompuestos de partida presente un unico grupo atractor de electrones no se obtienen los correspondientes sistemas heterociclicos.  la tioacetamida y la tiobenzamida reaccionan con diferentes ilidencompuestos para originar 4-tioxopirimidinas 5-sustituidas. La formacion de estos compuestostranscurre via la formacion de aductos de cadena abierta  que han sido aislados en varios de los casos estudiados. Es de se\u00f1alar que para que estas ultimas reacciones tengan lugar es necesaria la presencia de un buen grupo saliente en la posicion 3 del propenonitrilo de partida.
