Tomas de aquino supera esta dificultad por considerar la accion como autodeterminacion de la persona que tiene su principio  y por tanto su regla  en la recta ratio. Scheler descubre la correlacion entre la constitucion de la persona y su conocimiento y actuacion morales. El amor emocional y el poder-hacer schelerianos son paralelos al amor naturalis y a la virtus tomistas:  expresiones de los diversos niveles de connaturalidad que son el fundamento de la vida moral. Al aplicar la nocion de actividad inmanente a la vida volitiva  tomas de aquino explica el perfeccionamiento de la persona en la accion y el incremento de esa connaturalidad intima con el bien  cosas
