El ciclo se completa en 144 a 168 horas y se caracteriza por poseer3 esquizogonias y una gametogonia  todas estas fases se localizan en las celulas de absorcion del tercio anterior del intestino delgado.  los esquizontes maduros de primera generacion aparecen a las 24 horas post administracion y contienen de 3 a 5 merozoitos.  los esquizontes de segunda generacion se localizan en la base de las vellosidades intestinales con 13 a 17 merozoitos.  los esquizontes de tercera generacion se localizan en la zona media de las microvellosidades intestinales conteniendo de 3 a 5 merozoitos. La gametogenia se desarrolla a partir de las 72 horas p.A.. A las 96 h.
