La biog\u00e9nesis mitocondrial es un proceso que implica la generaci\u00f3n de nuevas mitocondrias y la maduraci\u00f3n de las ya existentes, con el objetivo de garantizar que cada c\u00e9lula contenga el n\u00famero adecuado de estos org\u00e1nulos para poder desempe\u00f1ar correctamente su funci\u00f3n. Puesto que las mitocondrias contienen su propio genoma que codifica subunidades oxphos, la funci\u00f3n mitocondrial depende estrictamente de la expresi\u00f3n del adnmt y del n\u00famero de copias de esta mol\u00e9cula en cada c\u00e9lula.     a pesar de la relevancia de la biog\u00e9nesis mitocondrial dentro de la fisiolog\u00eda celular, todav\u00eda no se conoce con claridad c\u00f3mo se regula este proceso ni se han identificado todas las prote\u00ednas que participan en la regulaci\u00f3n y en la transcripci\u00f3n del genoma mitocondrial. En este contexto, como objetivo de esta tesis doctora, nos propusimos analizar la funci\u00f3n de algunos genes relacionados con el metabolismo del adnmt utilizando d.Melanogaster como sistema modelo. Por una parte, hemos caracterizado las regiones promotoras de los genes que codifican los factores de transcripci\u00f3n mitocondriales tipo b (d-mttfb1 y d-mttfb2), una helicasa mitocondrial (d-mthelicasa) y el factor mitocondrial de terminaci\u00f3n de la transcripci\u00f3n (dmttf). Por otra, hemos analizado la funci\u00f3n in vivo de los factores de transcripci\u00f3n mitocondriales tipo b mediante interferencia de arn (rnai).     los resutlados del an\u00e1lisis de las regiones promotoras de estos genes han demostrado que, al menos en c\u00e9lulas en cultivo, el sistema dre\/dref regula la expresi\u00f3n de los genes d-mttfb2, d-mthelicasa y dmttf per no la del gen d-mttfb1. Inicialmente se hab\u00eda descrito que el factor de transcripci\u00f3n dref participaba en la expresi\u00f3n de genes relacionados con la replicaci\u00f3n del adnn y la proliferaci\u00f3n celular.
