Este estudio diacr\u00f3nico contextualiza la creaci\u00f3n de los mismos -en 1842 la normal masculina y en 1861 la femenina-, localiza las diferentes ubicaciones de las dos instituciones, analiza la dependencia econ\u00f3mica cr\u00f3nica que mantuvieron de los fondos provinciales, identifica los aspectos fundamentales que caracterizaron a la comunidad educativa que particip\u00f3 en su puesta en marcha y desarrollo -alumnado, profesorado y personal subalterno-; asimismo, la investigaci\u00f3n recoge la organizaci\u00f3n interna de los centros y el r\u00e9gimen disciplinario establecido en ellos, as\u00ed como, cuestiones curriculares -planes de estudios, recursos y materiales, distribuci\u00f3n del tiempo, evaluaci\u00f3n del proceso de aprendizaje, pr\u00e1cticas de ense\u00f1anza, etc.- Que marcaron la formaci\u00f3n de muchos maestros y maestras de la provincia, todo ello guiado por una metodolog\u00eda que, de manera cient\u00edfica e interdisciplinar, permite a futuros investigadores\/as de otras localidades la confirmaci\u00f3n o no de una serie de hip\u00f3tesis planteadas al inicio de la tesis y a las que, de manera contundente para el caso concreto de c\u00f3rdoba, se dan respuesta en varios cap\u00edtulos. Por \u00faltimo, \u00e9sta concluye con un ep\u00edlogo dedicado a la ii rep\u00fablica, per\u00edodo de la historia de espa\u00f1a en el que se ensayaron la mayor\u00eda de las reformas educativas
