Son estudiadas tres t\u00e9cnicas propuestas en la literatura: el m\u00e9todo statis, el m\u00e9todo de krzanowski y el an\u00e1lisis tri\u00e1dico. Estas t\u00e9cnicas en su formulaci\u00f3n original, se basan en el acp, y no proporcionan la representaci\u00f3n simultanea de individuos y variables y tampoco la representaci\u00f3n de la evoluci\u00f3n de los individuos. para las dos primeras t\u00e9cnicas, la escuela salmantina ha propuesto versiones biplot. Siguiendo los trabajos en ese sentido, proponemos una versi\u00f3n biplot para el an\u00e1lisis tri\u00e1dico, que denominamos biplot tri\u00e1dico, la cual posibilita los dos tipos de representaci\u00f3n referidos. presentamos un estudio inicial de los tres m\u00e9todos, las versiones biplot existentes para los dos primeros y el desarrollo te\u00f3rico del biplot tri\u00e1dico. Proponemos tambi\u00e9n diversas medidas de ajuste. para posibilitar la aplicaci\u00f3n de los resultados te\u00f3ricos hemos elaborado en matlab un programa que hemos titulado biptriad. El programa posibilita tambi\u00e9n la comparaci\u00f3n entre los espacios compromiso del biplot  de krzanowski y del biplot tri\u00e1dico. por \u00faltimo, presentamos la aplicaci\u00f3n de la teor\u00eda a un conjunto de datos reales de inversi\u00f3n extranjera directa de europa en am\u00e9rica latina utilizando el biptriad, con lo cual demostramos las posibilidades te\u00f3ricas del m\u00e9todo y las posibilidades del biptriad tanto para aplicarlo como para permitir la comparaci\u00f3n emp\u00edrica entre el biplot de krzanowski y el tri\u00e1dico para cada particular conjunto de
