El objetivo de la presente tesis es: realizar el estudio de oxidaci\u00f3n de tiosulfatos a sulfatos, dejando dichos efluentes en condiciones aceptables desde el punto de vista medioambiental, as\u00ed como su aplicabilidad a efluentes industriales. Se han estudiado los siguientes procesos de oxidaci\u00f3n:     a,- reacci\u00f3n a presi\u00f3n atmosf\u00e9rica con aire\/ox\u00edgeno.     b,- reacci\u00f3n a presi\u00f3n y temperaturas elevadas.     c,- reacci\u00f3n con cu2+.     d,- reacci\u00f3n con el sistema cu2+\/o2.     e,- aplicabilidad de los par\u00e1metros \u00f3ptimos a efluentes industriales.     los resultados obtenidos han sido:      a,- presi\u00f3n atmosf\u00e9rica con aire\/oxigeno, la velocidad de oxidaci\u00f3n es muy lenta.     b,- a presi\u00f3n y temperaturas elevadas, a ph alcalino la velocidad de oxidaci\u00f3n es lenta, y a ph por debajo de 4 se descomponen los tiosulfatos dando azufre coloida y  so2.     c,- oxidaci\u00f3n con cu2+, a valores de ph entre 4 y 5, la estequimetr\u00eda de la reacci\u00f3n es:     s2o32- (aq) + cu2+ (aq) + 2oh- (aq)     so4 2- (aq) + cus(s) + h2o     obteni\u00e9ndose el modelo matem\u00e1tico emp\u00edrico: x=kexp . T = 9.73 x 10  13 e -98000\/rt [oh-]0 [cu2+]0.4 [s2o3 2]0.T.     d,- oxidaci\u00f3n con cu2+\/o2, para un intervalo de temperatura de 40-80\u00c2\u00bac se observa una reacci\u00f3n en dos etapas, obteniendo dos energ\u00edas de activaci\u00f3n de: ea1=41 kjmol-1 y ea2=3 kjmol-1 respectivamente, y unos ordenadores aparentes de reacci\u00f3n (n) de : po2; 1 [oh-]  0,[cu2+] 2, [s2o3 2-] -3.     e,- el tratamiento del efluente industrial se ha obtenido plata electrol\u00edtica impurificada conag2s con tama\u00f1os de part\u00edcula de alrededor de 1um, plata precipitada qu\u00edmicamente con na2s2o4 tama\u00f1os de part\u00edcula entre 0.5 y 1um. Se logra la oxidaci\u00f3n de tiosulfatos mediante el sistema cu2+\/o2 desde 7500 ppm hasta aproximadamente 50 ppm.
