El inter\u00e9s cient\u00edfico y social que tiene el tdah se fundamenta en sus elevados \u00edndices de preValencia, las repercusiones que acarrea a largo plazo y su car\u00e1cter cr\u00f3nico. Este trastorno constituye una causa com\u00fan en remisi\u00f3n a m\u00e9dicos de familia, pediatras, neuropediatras, psic\u00f3logos y psiquiatras infantiles. Su car\u00e1cter cr\u00f3nico hace que el problema persiste en proporciones preocupantes en la adolescencia y en la vida adulta. Aunque los problemas de los ni\u00f1os hiperactivos suelen reducir su severidad, muchas de sus dificultades en el ajuste sociopersonal persisten en la juventud y en la adultez.     esta investigaci\u00f3n tiene tres prop\u00f3sitos.     1,- determinar si maestros de escuela p\u00fablica y privada en puerto rico conocen sobre tdah.     2,- saber cu\u00e1les son las actitudes que \u00e9stos asumen al recibir en el aula a un ni\u00f1o con tdah, o cuyo comportamiento podr\u00eda estar asociado al trastorno.     3,- compartir informaci\u00f3n y hallazgos relevantes sobre el trastorno, su pron\u00f3stico y manejo en el hogar y el aula para que se diseminen a padres y maestros.     los cap\u00edtulos i y ii define el tdah, utilizando como marcos de referencia el manual de diagn\u00f3stico y estad\u00edstico de los des\u00f3rdenes mentales de la aap, enfoques de investigadores y organizaciones. El cap\u00edtulo iii y iv tratan del proceso de evaluaci\u00f3n y tratamiento.  el cap\u00edtulo v describe la metodolog\u00eda de la investigaci\u00f3n.  el cap\u00edtulo vi presenta los hallazgos de la investigaci\u00f3n sobre el conocimiento y las actitudes delos maestros de escuela p\u00fablica y privada con relaci\u00f3n al tdah. El cap\u00edtulo vii presenta las conclusiones de la investigaci\u00f3n.
