Era imprescindible llevar a cabo un estudio de estas caracter\u00edsticas, pues hasta ahora, cuando se hab\u00eda abarcado el an\u00e1lisis art\u00edstico de este creador se hab\u00eda efectuado de una manera muy somera, con un corpus cr\u00edtico pleno de t\u00f3picos. Hab\u00eda, por tanto, que  revisar todo lo hecho, estudiar directamente la labor del pintor as\u00ed como analizar la documentaci\u00f3n personal. en la primera parte se expone su biograf\u00eda, desarrollando con m\u00e1s intensidad aquellas etapas menos conocidas, como la estancia en la academia de espa\u00f1a en roma entre 1928 y 1933 o el periodo vivido en inglaterra entre 1937-1950. en cuanto al cap\u00edtulo dedicado al estudio de su pintura, se destaca su intensa vinculaci\u00f3n con la vanguardia, tanto con el surrealismo como con el postcubismo o el postismo; as\u00ed como su relaci\u00f3n con el llamado \u00abretorno al orden\u00bb, con la generaci\u00f3n del 27 o el fauvismo ib\u00e9rico. De igual modo se analiza alguno de los periodos de su producci\u00f3n m\u00e1s desconocidos, como los fotocollages o lo que prieto de nomin\u00f3 popares, su versi\u00f3n castiza del pop art. hay una \u00faltima secci\u00f3n dedicada a las ideas est\u00e9ticas y a los principales temas que gregorio prieto desarroll\u00f3 en su creaci\u00f3n. En este sentido se trata con cierta prolijidad su lealtad a la figuraci\u00f3n, a lo popular y a la religiosidad, que convivir\u00e1 con el fuerte componente homoer\u00f3tico de muchas de sus creaciones. Entre los temas m\u00e1s destacados: la mancha; el maniqu\u00ed, los molinos; la poes\u00eda; los marineros; los \u00e1ngeles, etc. asimismo se incluye un amplio apartado bibliogr\u00e1fico, que en buena medida se dedica a los libros que ilustr\u00f3 y\/o escribi\u00f3 gregorio prieto.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de la tesis doctoral \u00ab<strong>Gregorio prieto. vida y obra (1897 &#8211;
