El gen localizado en el cromosoma 17q25.1 codifica para una prote\u00edna de 205 amino\u00e1cidos formada por una regi\u00f3n extracelular con un dominio inmunoglobulina y una regi\u00f3n transmembrana que contiene un residuo cargado positivamente (lys), el cual nos permite predecir su posible asociaci\u00f3n a una mol\u00e9cula adaptadora. La interacci\u00f3n de irem-2 con dap-10 y dap-12 se confirm\u00f3 en c\u00e9lulas cos transfectadas. Utilizando los anticuerpos espec\u00edficos generados en c\u00e9lulas de sangre perif\u00e9rica y muestras de m\u00e9dula \u00f3sea observamos que la expresi\u00f3n de irem-2 est\u00e1 restringida a c\u00e9lulas hematopo\u00e9ticas maduras del linage mielomonoc\u00edtico. La diferenciaci\u00f3n in vitro en los monocitos a c\u00e9lulas dendr\u00edticas inmaduras provoca una disminuci\u00f3n del a expresi\u00f3n de irem-2. La estimulaci\u00f3n con los anticuerpos espec\u00edficos, de irem-2 asociado a dap-12 en la l\u00ednea celular rbl (leuc\u00e9mia basof\u00edlica de rata) induce la actividad transcripcional de nfat y en aus\u00e9ncia de dap-12 se requiere la presencia de un coest\u00edmulo, el pma, para producir actividad transcripcional. La estimulaci\u00f3n del irem-2 en monocitos induce la producci\u00f3n de tnf-a y la liberaci\u00f3n  de calcio intracelular. Como conclusi\u00f3n, estos resultados indican que irem-2 es un nuevo receptor activador de la superfamilia de las immunoglobulinas expresado en el linage
