Los problemas de optimizaci\u00f3n de estructuras se pueden dividir en tres categor\u00edas: propiedades, forma, y topolog\u00eda.  el desarrollo de los m\u00e9todos para la optimizaci\u00f3n de estructuras ha sido bastante desordenado como resultado de la divisi\u00f3n de ideas: programaci\u00f3n matem\u00e1tica (mp), criterios de optimalidad (oc), optimizaci\u00f3n estructural evolucionaria (eso), microestructuras s\u00f3lidas is\u00f3tropas con penalizaci\u00f3n (simp), optimizaci\u00f3n estructural basada en el crecimiento biol\u00f3gico (bgso), m\u00e9todo de la curva de nivel (lsm), computaci\u00f3n evolutiva (ec), etc.  existen diferentes m\u00e9todos evolucionarios: estrategias evolutivas (ess), programaci\u00f3n evolucionaria (ep), programaci\u00f3n gen\u00e9tica (gp), y algoritmos gen\u00e9ticos (gas); \u00e9stos \u00faltimos disponen de una base te\u00f3rica m\u00e1s robusta, y est\u00e1n biol\u00f3gicamente mejor adaptados.  el m\u00e9todo de la malla fija ha sido utilizado en problemas en donde la geometr\u00eda del objeto, o las propiedades f\u00edsicas del cuerpo cambian con el tiempo. En este trabajo se muestra la posibilidad de utilizar el m\u00e9todo de la malla fija como alternativa al m\u00e9todo de los elementos finitos convencional, para resolver problemas de elasticidad.  el principal objetivo de esta tesis es introducir un nuevo procedimiento, denominado mfag, para la optimizaci\u00f3n de forma y topolog\u00eda de estructuras continuas bidimensionales. La forma y la topolog\u00eda de la estructura dependen de un algoritmo gen\u00e9tico, el cual, a trav\u00e9s de las isol\u00edneas del problema define el n\u00famero, forma y distribuci\u00f3n de las cavidades.
