Se analiza la obtenci\u00f3n de biog\u00e1s, por digesti\u00f3n anaerobia, y su uso como combustible, para su aprovechamiento energ\u00e9tico en la propia planta y\/o venta al exterior. Igualmente se analiza el tratamiento de los lodos digeridos, remanentes del tratamiento, y sus posibles usos, en base a sus caracter\u00edsticas, como fertilizantes o como aprovechamiento energ\u00e9tico adicional. se estudia la viabilidad t\u00e9cnica-econ\u00f3mica de la instalaci\u00f3n de un sistema de digesti\u00f3n anaerobia para los lodos producidos en las estaciones depuradoras de aguas residuales de galicia, que permita aprovechar el biog\u00e1s obtenido en dicho sistema para producir energ\u00eda el\u00e9ctrica, teniendo en cuenta la realidad actual y futura de producci\u00f3n de lodos. Para ello, se consideran diferentes an\u00e1lisis y estimaciones que concluyen con la determinaci\u00f3n del biog\u00e1s a obtener en galicia, con el m\u00ednimo cooste y la mayor eficiencia posible, teniendo presentes los condicionantes medioambientales y sociales existentes, desarrollandose as\u00ed mismo un modelo de auditor\u00eda energ\u00e9ticas para las edar. se ha empleado una metodolog\u00eda deductiva que partiendo de la producci\u00f3n actual de lodos, analiza las posibles opciones de su digesti\u00f3n y se propone una soluci\u00f3n t\u00e9cnica, considerada viable econ\u00f3mica y medioambientalmente. La tesis se ha estructurado siguiendo esta l\u00ednea en 14 cap\u00edtulos, resultando como conclusi\u00f3n una propuesta de soluci\u00f3n final global al problema, teniendo en cuenta la elevada y continua reducci\u00f3n del uso de tierras agr\u00edcolas y el fuerte rechazo social que se produce por el uso de los lodos en suelos agr\u00edcolas, consistente en realizar la concentraci\u00f3n de todos los tipos de lodos generados en las edar gallegas.
