Nos hemos centrado en estudiar los cambios que se producen en el metabolismo del nitr\u00f3geno durante el proceso infectivo, ya que este es un punto central del metabolismo de la planta y es un aspecto poco estudiado durante la interacci\u00f3n. como modelo de trabajo hemos utilizado la interacci\u00f3n de tipo compatible entre tomate y pseudomonas syringae pv.Tomato.     evidencias derivadas de trabajos previos desarrollados en nuestro laboratorio surgieren que durante el proceso de patog\u00e9nesis se produce un importante proceso de movilizaci\u00f3n de nitr\u00f3geno en los tejidos infectados, por lo que nos centramos en estudiar los cambios que se produc\u00edan en las principales enzimas responsables de la reasimilaci\u00f3n del nitr\u00f3geno en plantas: glutamina sintetasa (gs) y asparragina sintetasa (as). En los tejidos infectados se observ\u00f3 la expresi\u00f3n coordinada de una gs de tipo citos\u00f3lica (gs1) y una as junto con la acumulaci\u00f3n de sus respectivos polip\u00e9ptidos. la caracterizaci\u00f3n realizada para as en el genoma de tomate junto con los datos existentes en las bases de datos indican que en tomate existen al menos dos genes diferentes para as, con patrones de expresi\u00f3n y papeles fisiol\u00f3gicos diferenciados.     la localizaci\u00f3n de la expresi\u00f3n de estas enzimas y de sus polip\u00e9ptidos se realiz\u00f3 mediante t\u00e9cnicas de hibridaci\u00f3n in situ e inmunolocalizaci\u00f3n, encontr\u00e1ndose asociada la expresi\u00f3n de gs1 a las c\u00e9lulas de mes\u00f3filo fotosint\u00e9tico y de as  asociada a los vasos de floema de los haces vasculares en los tejidos infectados. Un patr\u00f3n similar se observ\u00f3 para la acumulaci\u00f3n de sus respectivos polip\u00e9ptidos.     para determinar el papel fisiol\u00f3gico de estas enzimas se realizaron medidas de
