Los resultados obtenidos, indican que en las condiciones de explotacion de nuestro estudio, la raza ovina gallega proporciona corderos de bajo peso al nacimiento, con limitada precocidad e inferior rendimiento que en otras poblaciones ovinas espa\u00f1olas. En la valoracion subjetiva de la canal y de la carne, los ternascos obtienen mejores resultados que el lechal en conformacion, carne ligeramente mas oscura y con mas cantidad de grasa subcutanea. En categorias comerciales, las hembras son las que mayormente proporcionan piezas de primera; los lechales presentan un mayor indice musculo-grasa por su inferior engrasamiento. Se propone la espalda en el lechal y espalda y pierna en el ternasco como piezas predictoras de la composicion tisular, siendo la grasa pelvicorrenal y el peso del hueso ca\u00f1a (medidas no depreciadoras), las que reflejan un mejor comportamiento predictor.
