Hemos evaluado el potencial como vacuna de estas proteinas, especialmente de una de las responsables de union de la transferrina a la superficie de la bacteria denominada tbp2. Comprobamos que la tbp2 es expresada por todas las cepas neisseria meningitidis, que es inmunogenica en el raton y en el hombre y que ademas en ambos casos presenta heterogeneidad antigenica; ademas el modelo de raton utilizado es valido para el estudio de la inmunogenicidad de la tbp2.
