Para ello se han realizado tres estudios base.  en el primer estudio se ha analizado la deposici\u00f3n seca de boratos y fluoruros en el \u00e1rea cer\u00e1mica de castell\u00f3n. Con este fin, se han tomado muestras de suelos del entorno cer\u00e1mico durante 3 a\u00f1os de muestreos, en los que se tomaron muestras de diferentes entornos industriales del cluster cer\u00e1mico, en distintas \u00e9pocas del ciclo hidrol\u00f3gico.  el segundo estudio tiene sentido preventivo, en \u00e9l se han analizado los mecanismos de emisi\u00f3n y fijaci\u00f3n de boratos y fluoruros. Se ha intentado obtener un sistema de depuraci\u00f3n alternativo de los boratos mediante la utilizaci\u00f3n de adsorbentes que permita la eliminaci\u00f3n o disminuci\u00f3n del boro en las aguas residuales procedentes de la molturaci\u00f3n de fritas cer\u00e1micas. tambi\u00e9n se dan posibles soluciones para una fijaci\u00f3n m\u00e1s efectiva de los fluoruros en las pastas cer\u00e1micas.  en el tercer estudio se pretenden solucionar algunos problemas de sostenibilidad qu\u00edmica. Para ello, se buscan sistemas de producci\u00f3n m\u00e1s sostenibles mediante el empleo de energ\u00edas alternativas a la combusti\u00f3n empleada en la s\u00edntesis de pigmentos, as\u00ed como nuevas materias primas utilizando residuos no peligrosos como nuevas fuentes para la producci\u00f3n de pigmentos cer\u00e1micos. Finalmente tambi\u00e9n se ha intentado el empleo de la cer\u00e1mica plana vidriada en la degradaci\u00f3n de contaminantes org\u00e1nicos por fotocat\u00e1lisis, como una nueva funcionalidad de la
