En estos argumentos ocupa un papel central el as\u00ed llamado principio de caridad que ha de ser aplicado en el caso de la interpretaci\u00f3n radical. se distinguen dos reconstrucciones de la argumentaci\u00f3n davidsoniana que constituir\u00edan una refutaci\u00f3n de la posici\u00f3n esc\u00e9ptica. Se tratar\u00eda de una refutaci\u00f3n directa, basada en la figura de un int\u00e9rprete omnisciente, y de una indirecta, basada en concebir la argumentaci\u00f3n davidsoniana como un argumento trascendental ambicioso. Ambas lecturas son rechazadas pues se considera que los argumentos antiesc\u00e9pticos de davidson no llegan a constituir una refutaci\u00f3n del escepticismo. Se rechaza asimismo una interpretaci\u00f3n m\u00e1s d\u00e9bil debida a barry stroud seg\u00fan la cual davidson ofrecer\u00eda un argumento trascendental modesto que lo que har\u00eda ser\u00eda bloquear al esc\u00e9ptico al mostrarle que su reto no puede ser considerado coherentemente por nadie. Seg\u00fan stroud sus argumentos nos har\u00edan invulnerables al reto esc\u00e9ptico. Se argumenta que, concebidos de ese modo, los argumentos de davidson no consiguen su prop\u00f3sito, pues dependen fuertemente del supuesto de que el esc\u00e9ptico se encuentra en un caso de interpretaci\u00f3n radical, cosa que \u00e9ste no tiene por qu\u00e9 asumir. Finalmente se defiende, siguiendo una clasificaci\u00f3n debida a michael williams, que que la filosof\u00eda de davidson ha de ser entendida como un diagn\u00f3stico teorico del escepticismo. Entendida as\u00ed, la filosof\u00eda de davidson mostrar\u00eda que el esc\u00e9ptico necesita para su posici\u00f3n de fuertes y distintivos supuestos filos\u00f3ficos que no tienen por qu\u00e9 ser aceptados -m\u00e1s concretamente el representacionismo y el internismo- y opondr\u00eda un modo de concebir el pensamiento y el lenguaje basado en el caso de la triangulaci\u00f3n que no conduce en sus propios t\u00e9rminos al escepticismo.
