En ambos ensayos se obtiene una actividad destacada para los compuestos en estudio. cuando la nitraci\u00f3n se lleva a cabo por peroxinitrito, el efecto de los compuestos es afectado por la presencia de bicarbonato, a diferencia de los resultados obtenidos cuando la nitraci\u00f3n se realiza con nitrito, mediante el sistema catalizado por hemoprote\u00ednas. A partir de datos espectrosc\u00f3picos se deduce que la 1-glucosil-2-isoprenilhidroquinona inhibe la nitraci\u00f3n de tirosina por peroxinitrito mediante la formaci\u00f3n de un derivado 5-mononitrado; sin embargo, el \u00e9ster met\u00edlico del \u00e1cido 3,5-dicafeilqu\u00ednico es muy sensible a la oxidaci\u00f3n y resistente a la nitraci\u00f3n.  en la determinaci\u00f3n de nitraci\u00f3n intracelular de fibroblastos, los compuestos deben estar presentes en el medio cuando se adiciona el peroxinitrito, para as\u00ed bloquear la r\u00e1pida progresi\u00f3n de sus efectos. Cuando se utilizan leucocitos polimorfonucleares humanos estimulados por acetato de miristo\u00edlforbol se obtienen tambi\u00e9n elevadas potencias para los tres principios, sobretodo para los derivados cafeicos.  finalmente se ha evaluado el efecto de los compuestos sobre modelos de hipersensibilidad por contacto inducida por oxazolona y dinitrofluorobenceno en rat\u00f3n, incluyendo aquellos relativos a la g\u00e9nesis de no y derivados nitrantes. Los \u00e9steres cafeicos presentan, en general, un efecto antiinflamatorio superior al de la hidroquinona, tanto sobre el espesor auricular como sobre la liberaci\u00f3n de
