En saccharomyces cerevisiae existe una \u00fanica elf2 alpha quinasa, el producto del gen gcn2, cuya actividad es necesaria para la supervivencia de la levadura en condiciones de privaci\u00f3n de alg\u00fan amino\u00e1cido. Sin embargo, en schizosaccharomyces pombe existen tres genes distintos que codifican prote\u00ednas quinasas de la misma familia: el hom\u00f3logo del gcn2 y otros dos, estructuralmente relacionados, que hemos llamado sek1 y sek2. Empleando mutantes de deleci\u00f3n de cada uno de estos genes, hemos estudiado el efecto que producen algunas situaciones de estr\u00e9s como el choque t\u00e9rmico, el estr\u00e9s oxidativo, la presencia de metales pesados y la privaci\u00f3n de nitr\u00f3geno sobre la fosforilaci\u00f3n del elf2 alpha. Nuestros resultados permiten asignar a cada elf2 alpha quinasa una respuesta diferencial a los distintos tratamientos. As\u00ed, la sek2 se activa preferentemente tras el choque t\u00e9rmico, mientras que la gcn2 responde mejor al estr\u00e9s oxidativo; la presencia de cdcl2, fundamentalmente promueve la activaci\u00f3n de sek2 y gnc2 y, finalmente, la privaci\u00f3n de nitr\u00f3geno parece activar por igual todas las elf2 alpha quinasas de s.Pombe.     los resultados obtenidos en este trabajo indican que la regulaci\u00f3n de la traducci\u00f3n es una diana fundamental en respuesta a distintas formas de estr\u00e9s, siendo la fosforilaci\u00f3n del elf2 alpha por su quinasas espec\u00edficas un fen\u00f3meno b\u00e1sico en dicha regulaci\u00f3n: sin embargo, el aumento de los niveles de elf2 alpha p parece ser un efecto temprano que no tiene consecuencias detectables a tiempos m\u00e1s largos sobre el crecimiento celular.  la elf2 alpha quinasas de s.Pombe participan en las rutas de se\u00f1alizaci\u00f3n de respuesta a estr\u00e9s de forma espec\u00edfica, y en el
