Adem\u00e1s de las cargas de inercia, m\u00e1sicas y de rozamiento con la v\u00eda que  act\u00faan sobre el veh\u00edculo, de tal forma que si la velocidad del viento cruzado es elevada puede aparecer un momento de balance en el veh\u00edculo que provoque su vuelco.  El grado de peligrosidad de la influencia del momento de balance producido por el viento cruzado aumenta cuando el veh\u00edculo se desplaza por un puente, ya que la velocidad en la capa l\u00edmite atmosf\u00e9rica crece al aumentar la altura al terreno, dejando a un lado el hecho de que a nivel del terreno hay innumerables elementos que pueden disminuir el efecto del viento, la vegetaci\u00f3n entre otros. los efectos de la fuerza lateral y en el momento de balance de diferentes tipos de parapetos actuando en un t\u00edpico tren de lata velocidad han sido medidos en t\u00fanel aerodin\u00e1mico cuando el veh\u00edculo est\u00e1 situado sobre un puente y cuando est\u00e1 situado sobre el terreno, estos ensayos se han complementado con ensayos en t\u00faneles de visualizaci\u00f3n. Los resultados muestran que, como cabr\u00eda esperar, las cargas aerodin\u00e1micas disminuyen al aumentar el tama\u00f1o de lso sistemas de apantallamiento al viento, y que los parapetos
