Los esfingol\u00edpidos son l\u00edpidos bioactivos que regulan gran cantidad de funciones celulares tales como proliferaci\u00f3n, supervivencia, diferenciaci\u00f3n y el ciclo celular. Adem\u00e1s, pueden actuar como potentes segundos mensajeros y estimular diferentes procesos en el interior celular tales como la migraci\u00f3n o la respuesta inflamatoria. Sin embargo, no existen datos en la bibliograf\u00eda de su implicaci\u00f3n en la secreci\u00f3n esteroidea. Uno de los hallazgos m\u00e1s importantes en esta tesis doctoral es el descubrimiento de dos nuevos reguladores de la secreci\u00f3n de aldosterona, la esfingosina-1-fosfato (sph-1-p) y el cer\u00e1mido natural fosfato (cer 1-p). la sph-1-p estimula la secreci\u00f3n de aldosterona a trav\u00e9s de un mecanismo en el cual participa la pkc-alfa, pkc-*, el ca2+ extracelular y prote\u00ednas gi y en el que se activan las rutas metab\u00f3licas pld\/pap, mek\/erk1-2 y pl3-k\/pkb. Por otra parte, el cer 1-p estimula la secreci\u00f3n de aldosterona a trav\u00e9s de un mecanismo en el que tambi\u00e9n participan prote\u00ednas gi y la activaci\u00f3n de las rutas de
