Su supervivencia hasta nuestros d\u00edas depende del poder de adaptaci\u00f3n a dichas sustancias. No obstante, la contaminaci\u00f3n de origen antr\u00f3pico supone un reto a\u00fan mayor para la supervivencia pues la mayor\u00eda de estos compuestos nunca han estado presentes en la biosfera, ya que son productos sintetizados por el hombre.     las cianobacterias y las microalgas representan uno de los grupos de productores primarios m\u00e1s importantes del planeta: adem\u00e1s, juegan un papel esencial en los ciclos biogeoqu\u00edmicos constituyendo una pieza clave en el funcionamiento de los ecosistemas. Sin embargo, se conoce muy poco acerca de c\u00f3mo estos grupos se adaptan a los contaminantes presentes en la naturaleza ya sean \u00e9stos de origen natural o antropog\u00e9nico. La herramienta b\u00e1sica para estudiar la capacidad que presentan estos organismos para adaptarse a sustancias t\u00f3xicas es un procedimiento que es, simult\u00e1neamente, experimental y estad\u00edstico, el an\u00e1lisis de fluctuaci\u00f3n de luria &#038; delbr\u00ed\u00bcck. Para ello, se utilizaron el 2,4,6-trinitrotolueno (tnt) y aguas sulfurosas de los ba\u00f1os de la hedionda, como representantes de un contaminante de nueva s\u00edntesis y natural, respectivamente. los modelos biol\u00f3gicos fueron spirogyra insignis (chlorophyceae) para las aguas sulfurosas y dictysphaerium chlorelloides (chlorophyceae) y microcystis aeruginosa (cianobacteria) para el tnt. El an\u00e1lisis de fluctuaci\u00f3n permiti\u00f3 conocer que la aparici\u00f3n de mutantes resistentes a ambos factores selectivos (tnt y aguas sulfurosas) se produce por mutaciones al azar, y de baja frecuencia en la poblaci\u00f3n, existentes antes de la exposici\u00f3n al t\u00f3xico.
