Una de las aplicaciones que m\u00e1s inter\u00e9s ha suscitado es el posible papel antitumoral de estos compuestos en c\u00e9lulas tumorales de diferente origen. Los resultados presentados en esta tesis doctoral muestran que los cannabinoides modulan la expresi\u00f3n de una serie de genes proapopt\u00f3ticos de un modo dependiente de la acumulaci\u00f3n de ceramida. entre estos genes se encuentra el que codifica para la prote\u00edna de estr\u00e9s p8, encargado de inducir atf4, chop y trib3 para desencadenar la apoptosis. Adem\u00e1s, la familia de genes modulada pro cannabionoides se encuentra implicada en un fen\u00f3meno denominado estr\u00e9s de ret\u00edculo endopl\u00e1smico.     nuestros resultados muestran que la activaci\u00f3n del estr\u00e9s de ret\u00edculo es un evento selectivo de c\u00e9lulas transformadas sensibles a cannabionoides. Este hecho no se detecta en c\u00e9lulas no transformadas ni en c\u00e9lulas tumorales resistentes a cannbinoides, lo que lo sit\u00faa como un marcador de la efectividad antitumoral de estos compuestos.     por \u00faltimo, la utilizaci\u00f3n conjunta de agentes inductores de estr\u00e9s de ret\u00edculo endopl\u00e1smico junto con cannabinoides ejerce una acci\u00f3n sin\u00e9rgica sobre la apoptosis de c\u00e9lulas tanto sensibles como resistentes a cannabinoides.     los resultados mostrado en esta tesis doctoral podr\u00edan contribuir al mayor conocimiento de la
