Carmen <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>La memoria establece un modelo matematico que describe el comportamiento termoelectrico de una cuba de electrolisis de alumnio. Matematicamente, se trata de un sistema acoplado de ecuaciones en derivadas parciales cuyas incognitas son la temperatura y el potencial. Ademas, la aparicion de un material, llamado talva, fruto de la solidificacion de la zona liquida de la cuba, lo convierte en un problema de stefan de una fase con fuente en la frontera libre.  en el segundo capitulo, se prueba la existencia de solucion de una version bidimensional y termica del problema global, en el dominio ocupado por el talud, que se considera homogeneo por materiales. La existencia y unicidad de solucion de la version heterogenea del problema anterior se demuestra en el capitulo tercero.  para demostrar la unicidad se supone que la frontera libre es de medida bidimensional nula. En el capitulo cuarto, se discretiza el problema termoelectrico global sobre la cuba completa mediante el metodo de elementos finitos.
