doctoral versa sobre el procesamiento de informaci\u00f3n visual destinado a la obtenci\u00f3n de sistemas de ayuda para invidentes, bien basados en neuroestimulaci\u00f3n mediante pr\u00f3tesis visuales, bien basados en la transducci\u00f3n sensorial de informaci\u00f3n visual relevante. aporta soluciones en el campo del modelado y simulaci\u00f3n de funciones de procesamiento bioinspirado de informaci\u00f3n visual, as\u00ed como implementaciones hardware orientadas a la obtenci\u00f3n de sistemas empotrados basados en fpga, port\u00e1tiles, configurables para cada usuario, y procesando la informaci\u00f3n visual procedente de una o dos c\u00e1maras en tiempo real. los resultados concretos obtenidos se pueden categorizar en los tres grupos siguientes: a) dise\u00f1o de m\u00f3dulos software para el modelado de los sistemas de procesamiento, que han conducido al desarrollo de un entorno completo para definici\u00f3n, simulaci\u00f3n, an\u00e1lisis y comparaci\u00f3n de resultados de este entorno con experimentos biol\u00f3gicos. b) dise\u00f1o mediante un lenguaje de descripci\u00f3n de hardware de alto nivel de los diferentes m\u00f3dulos de procesamiento que intervienen en el sistema global. c) dise\u00f1o e implementaci\u00f3n en chips reconfigurables (fpga) de diversas soluciones completas para ayuda a invidentes, incluyendo un sistema de generaci\u00f3n de eventos relativos a estimulaci\u00f3n nerviosa, y un nuevo dispositivo electr\u00f3nico-inform\u00e1tico de transducci\u00f3n sensorial que genera patrones sonoros que codifican
