En una primera fase se estudian los procesos previos con el fin de adecuar los efluentes para la etapa de produccion que incluyen procesos de concentracion e hidrolisis, determinacion de los niveles adecuados de n y p y necesidad de reducir metales en el medio. Se hace una seleccion entre once cepas de a. Niger en base a sus requerimientos de n y p. Se utilizan distintas metodolog\u00edas para alcanzar las condiciones optimas de operacion segun las respuestas de las distintas cepas a diferentes niveles de n y p. Se demuestra el efecto estimulante de metanol y etanol sobre la produccion de acido citrico. Se desarrolla un sistema de cultivo sobre un soporte inerte de espumas de poliuretano y se compara con sistemas de cultivo sumergido, evaluando sus respuestas a la tasa de adicion de nitrogeno y a la
