Dentro de las c\u00e9lulas el nitrato es utilizado para sintetizar los componentes celulares nitrogenados. Los resultados del presente trabajo sugieren que la entrada de nitrato se regula controlando la cantidad de ynt1 en la membrana plasm\u00e1tica en funci\u00f3n de la fuente de nitr\u00f3geno. De esta forma,  cuando las c\u00e9lulas disponen de fuentes de nitr\u00f3geno m\u00e1s favorables que el nitrato para crecer, se prescinde del transportador de nitrato envi\u00e1ndolo a la vacuola para ser degradado, un proceso que requiere la uni\u00f3n covalente de la prote\u00edna ubiquitina a ynt1 como se\u00f1al para que sea endocitado. La ubiquitina se une preferentemente a residuos de lisina localizados en un amplio dominio citos\u00f3lico de ynt1. Por otro lado, en este mismo dominio hemos identificado residuos de senina que se fosforilan tambi\u00e9n en funci\u00f3n de la disponibilidad y calidad de la fuente de nitr\u00f3geno. La fosforilaci\u00f3n de estos residuos, que ocurre en ausencia de nitr\u00f3geno, permite aumentar la estabilidad de ynt1. Por tanto, fosforilaci\u00f3n y ubiquitinaci\u00f3n controlan la cantidad de ynt1  y con ello, la entrada de nitrato a las c\u00e9lulas. Estos resultados contribuyen a la comprensi\u00f3n, en t\u00e9rminos moleculares, de la regulaci\u00f3n de los transportadores de nitrato en eucariotas.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos
