Se propuso una aproximaci\u00f3n num\u00e9rica para calcular las caracter\u00edsticas b\u00e1sicas de los cristales fot\u00f3nicos no lineales como, por ejemplo, el diagrama de bandas o la transmisi\u00f3n . La aproximaci\u00f3n num\u00e9rica presentada en la tesis tiene ciertas ventajas \u00fatiles para cualquiera que dise\u00f1e dispositivos \u00f3pticos basados en cristales fot\u00f3nicos no lineales.  El software desarrollado a base de esta aproximaci\u00f3n num\u00e9rica ha permitido dise\u00f1ar y simular numericamente un conmutador totalmente \u00f3ptico cuyas prestaciones son superiores a las
