El material sintetizado se caracteriza por difraccion de rayos x, espectroscopia infrarroja y microscopia electronica de barrido. Se estudian asimismo las propiedades fisico-quimicas de los materiales sintetizados, asi como su estabilidad termica.  posteriormente se estudian los distintos metodos de procesamiento de los materiales, tales como colado, prensado isostatico, extrusion y granulado. Finalmente se aborda el tema de la biocompatibilidad.
