Estos telescopios no \u00abven\u00bb directamente la fuente bajo observaci\u00f3n, sino que detectan la luz cherenkov emitida en la cascada de part\u00edculas que se produce al entrar los rayos gamma en la atm\u00f3sfera terrestre. Esta t\u00e9cnica solventa el problema de la opacidad de la tierra a los rayos gamma, y con ella se ha conseguido encontrar numerosas fuentes de rayos gammas de alta energ\u00eda, entre las que encontramos por ejemplo remanentes de supernovas, galaxias de n\u00facleo activo y microcu\u00e1sares. De entre los nuevos telescopios puestos en marcha recientemente, destaca el telescopio magic, que con su 17 m de di\u00e1metro es el mayor telescopio cherenkov construido hasta la fecha. Magic est\u00e1 situado en el observatorio astrof\u00edsico del roque de los muchachos, en la isla de la palma, participando en el proyecto m\u00e1s de 150 cient\u00edficos de 18 centros de investigaci\u00f3n y universidades internacionales.     la tesis comienza el estado actual de la astronom\u00eda gamma, describiendo los tipos de fuentes, as\u00ed como los mecanismos de emisi\u00f3n. A continuaci\u00f3n se explica la t\u00e9cnica que permite detectar desde tierra la emisi\u00f3n gamma de estas fuentes. Para ello, se describe la f\u00edsica de las cascadas atmosf\u00e9ricas, haciendo especial hincapi\u00e9 en las diferencias entre las iniciadas por rayos gamma de las creadas por el enorme fondo de rayos c\u00f3smicos.     tras describir el telescopio magic, destacando principalmente las novedades t\u00e9cnicas que incorpora, se explica con detalle la cadena de an\u00e1lisis implementada para el an\u00e1lisis de los primeros datos tomados por el telescopio. Se presta especial importancia a las nuevas t\u00e9cnicas empleadas para separar la se\u00f1al gamma del fondo hadr\u00f3nico, especialmente a bajas energ\u00edas, y en el m\u00e9todo para estimar la
