Con tal empresa se pretende propiciar otro acercamiento a la experiencia est\u00e9tica del artista colombiano y, simult\u00e1neamente, evidenciar que a trav\u00e9s del realismo m\u00e1gico que impregna sus obras, botero muestra la esencia de colombia. la tesis se centra en la obra pict\u00f3rica del artista durante el periodo comprendido entre 1950 y 1990, el cual ha sido organizado cronol\u00f3gicamente en siete etapas, que muestran la evoluci\u00f3n formal y conceptual de su pintura, sus influencias, sus inquietudes y la manera como se consolida su estilo. el desarrollo de la investigaci\u00f3n se inicia contextualizando el arte latinoamericano dentro del \u00e1mbito internacional para ubicar en \u00e9l, el arte colombiano. Posteriormente, un seguimiento por la vida del artista, desde sus primeros pasos en el arte hasta la actualidad, nos pone en antecedentes sobre las particularidades que marcaron su experiencia est\u00e9tica. Se resaltan los acontecimientos primordiales que fueron acentuando y definiendo lo que conocemos como boteromorfismo. A continuaci\u00f3n se explora en el trasfondo formal y filos\u00f3fico del mundo esf\u00e9rico de botero, intentando con ello un acercamiento m\u00e1s profundo a su obra. a lo largo de este proceso de b\u00fasqueda se va observando la importancia de esa realidad m\u00e1gica en el acontecer latinoamericano que motiva la presente investigaci\u00f3n y sobre la cual gira la premisa base: el realismo m\u00e1gico colombiano, reflejado en el imaginario boteriano. se indaga en los or\u00edgenes de lo real-maravilloso-americano planteado por carpentier para comprender la ra\u00edces de una arte y una literatura que han dado a conocer a latinoam\u00e9rica.
