Micro-tom es un cultivar de tomate que se ha tomado como modelo en diferentes estudios biotecnol\u00f3gicos realizados recientemente en esta especie. Su fenotipo enano, su ciclo de vida corto y la facilidad de ser transformado mediante agrobacterium son caracter\u00edsticas que lo convierten en un buen sistema modelo. Sin embargo, no se conocen las bases gen\u00e9ticas ni moleculares que generan el particular fenotipo de este cultivar. En el presente trabajo se han caracterizado molecularmente dos mutaciones que generan dos caracter\u00edsticas fenot\u00edpicas de micro-tom: la mutaci\u00f3n dwarf (d), que afecta a un gen de la bios\u00edntesis de brasinosteroides (br) y causa enanismo y rugosidad en las hojas, y la mutaci\u00f3n self-pruning (sp), que afecta a un gen implicado en el control del proceso en que se alternan las fases vegetativas y reproductivas, causando una determinaci\u00f3n acelerada de las unidades simpodiales y d\u00e1ndole a la planta una apariencia muy compacta. Adem\u00e1s se ha determinado que, en micro-tom, las giberelinas (gas), hormonas necesarias para en el crecimiento normal de la planta, no tienen alterada la ruta de bios\u00edntesis ni de respuesta, por lo que una tercera mutaci\u00f3n propuesta en la bibliograf\u00eda para \u00e9ste cultivar, miniature (mnt), no est\u00e1 relacionada con el metabolismo ni la se\u00f1alizaci\u00f3n de estas hormonas. El cuajado y el desarrollo del fruto, particularmente el de tipo partenoc\u00e1rpico, son dos de los caracteres de inter\u00e9s biotecnol\u00f3gico en tomate y ambos procesos dependen de gas. En el presente trabajo se ha realizado un estudio comparativo de la expresi\u00f3n de un gen de bios\u00edntesis de gas de tomate (slga20ox1) implicado en la fructificaci\u00f3n, en micro-tom (mediante an\u00e1lisis por rt-pcr) y en arabidopsis (utilizando un fragmento de 851 pb del promotor de dicho gen fusionado a gus).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de la tesis doctoral
