Particip\u00f3 y colabor\u00f3 en los acontecimientos m\u00e1s relevantes como en la creaci\u00f3n del grupo nueva m\u00fasica a principios de los a\u00f1os 50 y fue responsable adem\u00e1s de las aportaciones musicales en los actos de homenaje a g\u00f3ngora.  encargado junto con turina y cubiles de reorganizar la vida musical espa\u00f1ola tras la guerra civil, se relacion\u00f3 con m\u00fasicos como bartok, ravel, stravinsky o rubinstein. Colabor\u00f3 con oscar espl\u00e1 en la cantata de los derechos humanos y con falla mantuvo una estrecha relaci\u00f3n avalada por largos a\u00f1os de correspondencia. gerardo diego es autor de m\u00e1s de 900 art\u00edculos musicales, coautor -junto a j. Rodrigo y f.
