Se buscaba una interacci\u00f3n sin\u00e9rgica entre ambos componentes que diera como resultado materiales con un conjunto de propiedades mejoradas, como conductividad, estabilidad t\u00e9rmica, buenas propiedades mec\u00e1nicas, solubilidad en disolventes org\u00e1nicos comunes y, por tanto, posibilidad de procesar los materiales en forma de pel\u00edculas, fibras o recubrimientos. Adem\u00e1s se plante\u00f3 la utilizaci\u00f3n de diferentes dopantes para la polianilina con el objetivo de a\u00f1adir otras funcionalidades al material compuesto como la actividad \u00f3ptica. la tesis describe la s\u00edntesis de los materiales compuestos de polianilina en su forma emeraldina sal y nanotubos de carbono de capa m\u00faltiple, y su transformaci\u00f3n a la forma emeraldina base. Se estudiaron la morfolog\u00eda y caracter\u00edsticas estructurales, t\u00e9rmicas, \u00f3pticas y el\u00e9ctricas de los materiales, el mecanismo de interacci\u00f3n entre los nanotubos de carbono y el pol\u00edmero, as\u00ed como la solubilidad y posibilidad de procesar el material en forma de pel\u00edculas. El mayor logro de este trabajo consisti\u00f3 en obtener el material compuesto de los nanotubos de carbono de pared m\u00faltiple y polianilina en la forma emeraldina base. El material compuesto contiene m\u00e1s del 50% en peso de nanotubos y es 9 \u00f3rdenes de magnitud m\u00e1s conductor que la emeraldina base sin nanotubos de carbono, alcanzando una conductividad a temperatura ambiente de 0.1 s\/cm. Lo que es m\u00e1s sorprendente es que este material compuesto, con tan alto porcentaje de nanotubos, es completamente soluble en nmp.
