Sin embargo, con la introduccion del dna y proteinas en estudios filogeneticos se propone el estudio del registro fosil a partir de biomoleculas preservadas en el tiempo.  asi, pues, nuestro objetivo es detectar, caracterizar y determinar especificidad de proteinas en fosiles mediante tecnicas inmunologicas y estudiar la presencia indirecta de proteinas mediante la produccion de sueros antifosiles. Una amplia variedad de muestras pertenecientes a diferentes especies y yacimientos han sido utilizadas para el estudio de dos proteinas muy evolucionadas: albumina e igg.  no obstante, y dada la edad de algunos de estos fosiles hemos descartado la presencia de proteinas contaminantes en las muestras.  los resultados obtenidos, con las distintas tecnicas inmunes, muestran la presencia de fosiles positivos, fosiles negativos y fosiles de dificil clasificacion, comprobado asimismo, como es posible determinar la presencia indirecta de proteinas en fosiles mediante la produccion de sueros
