El desarrollo de las diversas estrategias de polimerizaci\u00f3n se ha basado adem\u00e1s de en la obtenci\u00f3n de procesos m\u00e1s econ\u00f3micos y de productos de diversas propiedades, en la obtenci\u00f3n de productos con menor cantidad de mon\u00f3mero no reaccionado y en sustituir en la medida de lo posible, los disolventes org\u00e1nicos, muy utilizados por ejemplo en la producci\u00f3n de pinturas. Este inter\u00e9s en mejorar el proceso se debe a que en los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os se ha producido un gran incremento de la concienciaci\u00f3n social respecto al medio ambiente, con el consecuente aumento de la presi\u00f3n legal. por este motivo, el principal objetivo de este trabajo fue explorar estrategias para reducir la formaci\u00f3n de compuestos org\u00e1nicos vol\u00e1tiles (covs) y en la reducci\u00f3n del consumo energ\u00e9tico utilizando procesos no isotermos. Finalmente, las distintas estrategias fueron evaluadas y comparadas utilizando el an\u00e1lisis de ciclo de vida (acv), herramienta que permite evaluar el impacto ambiental generado por un producto considerando todos los procesos y materiales involucrados en su formaci\u00f3n. respecto a la formaci\u00f3n de covs, en este trabajo se estudiaron los mecanismos de formaci\u00f3n de n-butanol durante la polimerizaci\u00f3n de l\u00e1tex de acrilato de butilo, acetato de vinilo y \u00e1cido acr\u00edlico. Se observ\u00f3 que el n-butanol se formaba a partir de la cadena de pol\u00edmero a trav\u00e9s de un mecanismos radicalario. Adem\u00e1s, pudo concluirse que la formaci\u00f3n de alcohol a partir de unidades de acrilato adyacentes es un comportamiento general de los l\u00e1tex cr\u00edlicos. Asimismo, en este trabajo se desarroll\u00f3 una estrategia para llevar a cabo la polimerizaci\u00f3n en emulsi\u00f3n en condiciones no isotermas, comenzando la reacci\u00f3n a baja temperatura.
