Los compuestos de au(i) se obtuvieron en atmosfera inerte por reaccion entre los complejos precursores (aubr)2(u-pr2(ch2)npr2)(r=me para n=2 y r=ph para n=1,3,4 y 6) y el correspondiente derivado de purina que contiene al menos dos protones ionizables en posiciones vecinas.  los complejos que se prepararon son de tres tipos: a) dinucleares ciclicos del tipo (au2(u-l) (u-pr2(ch2)npr2)(n=1-4), en los que tanto la difosfina como el anion del derivado de purina hacen de puente entre los atomos de oro. Se determinaron las estructuras cristalinas de los complejos de xantina, 1-metil-8-etilteofilina, guanina y 8-tioteofilina. En los tres primeros el ligando purina se coordina en forma quelatopuente a traves de n3 y n9, mientras que en el ultimo tiene lugar por n7 y s8. Hay que destacar que en todos ellos existe interaccion au-au.B)dinucleares y trinucleares aciclicos del tipo (un-l)(au(dpph)aubr)n (n=n de protones ionizables: dpph=difenilfosfinahexano) c) complejos dinucleares del tipo ((u-l)au(u- pr2(ch2)npr2)au(u-l)(n=1-4), cuando el ligando no tiene dos protones ionizables en posiciones vecinas.  en lo que respecta a los complejos de cu(i), estos se prepararon a partir de los complejos precursores (cu3(u-dppm)3(u3-cl)2)cl y (cu (u-hl)). Por reaccion del primero con el derivado de purina en medio basico se obtuvieron los complejos del tipo (cu3(u-dppm)3(u-cl)(u-l)) y (cu3(u-dppm)3(u3-cl)2)(cu(hl)2). Por reaccion del segundo con dppm( bisdifenilfosfinametano) se obtuvo el complejo dinucleare (cu2(u-hl)(u-dppm)(n1-dppm)2).
