En el sur de espa\u00f1a podosphaera fusca ha sido descrito como el \u00fanico agente causante de la enfermedad. El desarrollo de resistencia por parte del pat\u00f3geno a muchos de los fungicidas comerciales y la demanda de una agricultura m\u00e1s compatible con el medio ambiente, sit\u00faan al control biol\u00f3gico entre las m\u00e1s interesante estrategias alternativas de control a tener en cuenta. en esta tesis nos plantemos evaluar la posibilidad de controlar al o\u00eddio mediante el uso de diferentes agentes de control biol\u00f3gico y elucidar los mecanismos mediante los cuales llevan a cabo su acci\u00f3n inhibitoria. en la primera parte de este trabajo seleccionamos dos hongos micropar\u00e1sitos, ampelomyces quisqualis y lecanicillium lecanii, as\u00ed como 4 cepas identificadas como bacillus subtilis por su capacidad para controlar satisfactoriamente la enfermedad en experimentos in vitro. Posteriormente, en ensayos realizados con pl\u00e1ntula de mel\u00f3n mantenidas en c\u00e1maras de cultivo, observamos como valores de humedad relativa superiores al 90% favorec\u00edan la actividad de biocontrol de estos agentes biol\u00f3gicos. Finalmente, la capacidad antogonista de estos agentes de biocontrol se confirm\u00f3 en ensayos realizados con plantas de mel\u00f3n mantenidas en invernadero, donde se obtuvieron niveles de control de la enfermedad similares a los obtenidos por un fungicida qu\u00edmico usado como control. con respecto a los mecanismos de acci\u00f3n empleados, mediante el empleo de diferentes t\u00e9cnicas de microscop\u00eda observamos como a.Quisqualis se comportaba como endopar\u00e1sito y bi\u00f3trofo estricto, mientras que l.Lecanii act\u00fao como un ectopar\u00e1sito, mostrando adem\u00e1s una fase de vida saprofita. para corroborar el papel de la antibiosis en la actividad de biocontrol de las cepas de b.Subtilis, se realizaron experimentos con filtrados bacterianos libres de c\u00e9lulas,
