Respecto al enlace, se han realizado c\u00e1lculos dft y an\u00e1lisis om y aim de los anteriores complejos, lo que permite dar una descripci\u00f3n rigurosa del enlace triple intermet\u00e1lico metal-metal en estos complejos, as\u00ed como del enlace metal-carbono del ligando metoxicarbino, que se encuentra similar al de los ligandos arilcarbinos m\u00e1s convencionales. Respecto a la reactividad de estas especies, los cationes con dos puente fosfuro [m2cp2(m-come)(m-pr2)2]+ presentan una reactividad dominada por el enlace triple y generan con facilidad productos saturados de adici\u00f3n [m2cp2(m-come)(m-pr2)2l2]+ (l = co, cnr, difosfinas) sin implicaciones del ligando carbino, detect\u00e1ndose s\u00f3lo en un caso acoplamiento entre el ligando entrante (cntbu) y el puente alcoxicarbino.  en cambio, el puente carbino es muy activo en los sustratos con un puente dilfosfuro. La adici\u00f3n de ligandos a los cationes con dos puentes carbino [mo2cp2(m-come)2(m-ocy2)]+ induce un acoplamiento reversible entre los mismos para dar los alquinos [mo2cp2(m-c2(ome)2(m-pcy2)l2]+, cuya reducci\u00f3n (l=co) desencadena una novedosa migraci\u00f3n del grupo metoxi para formar un puente carboxicarbino.
