En el an\u00e1lisis se establecen dos tendencias principales: explicaciones con contenido cient\u00edfico (algunos con un gran paralelismo con la ciencia antigua) y explicaciones basadas en creencias populares y en \u00abmitos\u00bb (algunos muy antiguos y otros que se consideran modernos). A lo largo del estudio se comprueba la importancia del contexto geogr\u00e1fico, hist\u00f3rico y social del lugar donde viven los alumnos en la construcci\u00f3n de sus concepciones alternativas. Se identifican mitos muy regionales que proveen un est\u00e1ndar epistemol\u00f3gico que sirve de gu\u00eda para el desarrollo conceptual del conocimiento cient\u00edfico y que debe ser considerado en el proceso de ense\u00f1anza-aprendizaje. A trav\u00e9s de la investigaci\u00f3n tambi\u00e9n se identifican algunos obst\u00e1culos epistemol\u00f3gicos que dificultan espistemol\u00f3gicos que dificultan el aprendizaje cient\u00edfico sobre los terremotos y de la teor\u00eda que se usa en la actualidad para explicar su origen: la teor\u00eda de la tect\u00f3nica de placas<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de la tesis
