En espa\u00f1a son escasas las investigaciones sobre distribuci\u00f3n y ecolog\u00eda, existiendo un gran vacio en el estudio sobre sus bacterias simbiontes. Para contribuir al conocimiento de estos hematodos, se plantearon los siguientes objetivos: 1) aislar e identificar poblaciones de neps y sus bacterias en la rioja, 2) caracterizar biol\u00f3gicamente el compeljo hematodo-bacteria, 3) estudiar su distribuci\u00f3n y 4) evaluar su potencial agron\u00f3mico. Las poblaciones de neps procedieron de un aislamiento directo de una larva de biblio hortulanus (diptera: bibionidae) y del aislamiento indirecto de 1.207 muestras de suelo utilizando la t\u00e9cnica de la trampa de insecto con galleria mellonella (lepidoptera: pyralidae) y\/o spodoptera littoralis (lepidoptera: noctuidae). Las especies de heamatodos identificaron mediante el estudio morofl\u00f3gico-morfom\u00e9trico y molecular. Las bacterias simbiontes, aisladas mediante la t\u00e9cnica de la gota colgante, fueron identificadas y caracterizadas mediante el estudio del fenotipo y el genotipo. El complejo hematodo-bacteria se caracteriz\u00f3 biol\u00f3gicamente mediante bioensayos de penetraci\u00f3n, tiempo de exposici\u00f3n, uno-en-uno y potencial reproductivo utilizando g. Mellonella como hospedador, analiz\u00e1ndose la patogenicidad y cin\u00e9tica de las bacterias simbiontes frente a s. Littoralis. La distribuci\u00f3n se evalu\u00f3 como abundancia, frecuencia de recuperaci\u00f3n, porcentaje de mortalidad larval del hospedador y densidad de poblaci\u00f3n en dos estudios: a) efecto de las variables ambientales y ed\u00e1ficas en la distribuci\u00f3n espacial de neps en zonas naturales y m\u00e1rgenes de cultivos, comparando la eficacia de aislamiento de dos insectos hospedadores (g. Littoralis y s.
